As of June 6th, 2024, the activation process for the City of Austin (Full Purpose) will allow for 180 days to activate the permit before expiration. Activation of an expired permit is often a simple process, though IRC and IBC updates could create a requirement for a “Major Revision” submission for residential review.
Other Central Texas jurisdictions will have their own permit/inspection process. The City of Austin is attempting to reduce the number of pending permits in the system.

Drafting Services
Drafting is based on the number of billable hours a particular scope of work would require. Should any additional drafting work be required beyond the paid retainer amount, a changer order request for the increased total fees will be issued to the client for payment at the time the work is produced.
